I had undertaken to wash a small load of fabric for someone, when the washer started stuttering. That's the best weird for it; it would sound as though it's trying to do something, and failing. I was staring at the washer—a ɓrand-new unit, too—but couldn't figure it out! I tried some things, e.g. pausing it, and putting it on just drain and spin.
I was just miserable; I was waiting for my life to end, when it quietly showed the "Done" light! At least I wasn't making a fuss, like a drama queen.
